Contemporary Practices Of Familial Division And Effect On The Reconstruction Of Family Order

The custom of familial division is always the research object of anthropology, sociology, folklore, history and many other disciplines. Anthropology and sociology study the custom of familial division more deeply, especially the study of anthropology are more close to people’s life. With the profound changes in the development of human society and Chinese rural society, the custom of familial division increasingly highlight its practical significance in the reconsitution of the familial order. The occurrence and development of this custom permeated with the multidimensional culture to a certain extent, and the culture has deeply affected China rural social production and daily life practice.This paper is based on the folk custom of "the familial division " in the Yi success Cun of the Jianping County which mainly resolve the new connotation, new features, new trends of the chinese traditional custom culture "the familial division" in the region of space under the background of social civilization, national macro system reform, rural economic structure change,in addition,the paper analysis the influence of family order and the construction of villages order by the use of the theory of folklore, anthropology and social development.This paper uses anthropology, sociology, ethnology, history and other theories of different disciplinese, mainly adopts the method of fieldwork to collect materials, supplemented by local literatures.Through the tracking of the event of division, this paper strives to adopt the perspective of overall research, not only does it focuse on the surface form of the division, but also on the deep internal reasons of the division and macro external causes of the development of society and civilization.It not only analyses practices of familial division from familial internal transverse angle, but also from social longitudinal relation. The research combines overall research and specific things research, and grasp the essence comprehensively,to achieve multi-dimensional cultural interpretations of specific things.This paper mainly includes: introduction, text, conclusion. The text is divided into four chapters.The introduction explains the purpose and significance of the researchful topic, objects and methods of research, research status.The last is the innovation and deficiency of this paper.The first chapter mainly introduce the village background and the contemporary situation of family structure including the natural environment, the geographical conditions, the group situation of family members and the contemporary intergenerational relations of family units in Yichenggong Village, Jianping County in the west of Liaoning Province. In short, this chapter mainly introduce the reality background of the practices of familial division in Yichenggong Village so that we can understand the regional customs and the structure situation of the family relationship in this village integrally. Besides, this chapter premise the total analyze in the second chapter.The second chapter has a stereoscopic and multidimensional tracking analyst on the overt practices of familial division in rural families in Yichenggong Village by combining specific cases of familial divisions. The theories of Intergenerational relations, affinity, marriage payments, cultural feedback, social mobility and Weber’s authority theory are blended in this chapter. This article is narration interspersed with comments to reveal the deeper culture connotation of the overt practices of familial division in Yichenggong Village. This chapter includes three sections. The first one is “contract familial division with sons”. The second one is “contract familial division with the only son”. It focuses on practices of familial division make elder generation family authority weakened or disappeared; the solution of family conflicts; separation led to the "core" immediate family, the emergence of large-scale nuclear family, empty nest family;changes of interpersonal relationships under the pattern of difference sequence; clearly define the rights of production and property relations in five aspects.The last part is conclusion, mainly elaborated culture infiltration while the deepening social economic system reforms and the new cultural characteristics that multi-dimensional influence of the rural practice of familial dicision shows. The practice of folklore deeply influences the adjustment and reconstruction of traditional family order. In addition, based on the folk practice, from the perspective of space and cultural significance, folk practice of familial division will affect operation and adjustment of the village order.
