Since from the educational films in the early 20th century, the teaching video resources have experienced a long time development. The teaching video resources have always been the hot spot of the educators. In recent years, the success of the khan academy set off a boom of micro teaching video resources development in the domestic. But there are many problems existed in these resources, such as the immature technology,lack of theoretical guidance, poorly designed and inappropriate application mode, etc. which resulting in not fully embody and play the role of micro teaching video resources. Cognitive load theory, according to the characteristics of human cognition, control the cognitive load of learning process, in order to improve learning efficiency. Therefore, the designation and application research of micro teaching video resources based on the cognitive load theory in this paper is of great value and significance.This study used the literature analysis, case studies, surveys and other research methods. The poorly designed micro video resources and the resources developed in this study applied to the teaching process. The writer compared and analyzed the application results, in order to verify the practicality and effectiveness of the micro video design strategy. I hope this study can provide a reference strategy for the future design of micro video, while also provide practical reference for micro-video resources used in the teaching process.This paper consists of six main chapters, namely introduction, research foundation, research designation, strategy exploration and resource development, application and evaluation, summary and outlook. First, the writer summarized the domestic and foreign researches and described the cognitive load theory, summed up the micro video design strategy based on cognitive load theory. Then, according to the designation strategy, designed the micro-video resources, taking the "C Programming Language" as an example. And also applied them to actual teaching, in order to explore their strengths and weaknesses in practice, reflect and modify the strategies.The first chapter is an introduction. Mainly described the research background and the needs of course study, explained the significance of this study.The second chapter is research foundation. Firstly, the essay introduced concepts of cognitive load theory and a brief description of its impact on education. Then the essay discussed the micro-video research status at home and abroad.Chapter three is study designation. From aspects of research object, research content and objectives, research methods introduced the overall designation of this study.The fourth chapter, from three aspects, controlling the internal cognitive load, reducing external cognitive load and increasing the germane cognitive load, proposed designation strategies of micro video. And taking "C Programming Language" as example, the writer developed micro video cases.The fifth chapter is the empirical study. We separately applied the poorly designed micro-video resources and the micro-video cases developed in this study to the actual teaching process. Then from two aspects, students’test scores and survey results, the writer compared the micro-video application results, in order to verify the effectiveness and the problems of designation strategy based on the cognitive load theory.Finally, the writer summarized the whole content and problems of this study and outlook a more complete and deeper research.
