In the new situation of the quality education, the requirements in the history teaching in senior middle school pays more attention to the cultivation of students’ interest in learning, the students play the main role, improve the efficiency of learning. This paper analyzes the traditional teaching method of the problems and shortcomings, and with education and educational psychology, analysis the concept and features of interest, points out several factors affecting senior high school students’ interest in learning history, and try in the teaching process to take targeted measures, eliminate the negative factors, the cultivation of students’ learning history interest.This paper is based on the lesson of "the glamour of calligraphy, painting and drama". This paper not only tells about characters, calligraphy, painting and drama, which are the important representatives of Chinese traditional culture, and their aesthetic pursuit, but also tells about that these traditional arts contain abundant knowledge of history and cultural connotation, which is interesting and helpful to improve the students’ humanistic quality. In the practical teaching process, we should reform the traditional teaching concept, change the traditional teaching method and follow comprehensive, progressive and contact teaching principles, use technology of multimedia. Starting from the Angle of art appreciation, we should make a reasonable use of these artistic works and historical knowledge which is relevant to these artistic works. If we can do this, we can not only raise the students’ aesthetic ability and humanities accomplishment, improve students’ understanding of the traditional culture and affinity for them, cultivate students’ sense of national pride and patriotism, but also can awaken the subjective consciousness of students, give the students a chance to play the main role in the class as well as inspire students to explore and study actively, improve students’ interest in learning history, construct the knowledge about history and learn history better.
