With the rapid development of information technology, talent cultivation mechanism and strategies for the development of education have changed. Education informatization has become the subject of education reform. A series of new learning styles, such as mobile learning, liberal learning, globalization and lifelong learning, have changed the learners’traditional cognitive structure, and the traditional teaching model has been unable to meet the modern learners’ needs. Therefore, toward the necessity of the" Cloud Era", it has become the core issue of the new course reform that changing the teaching concept, reforming the teaching methods and cultivating innovative talents who have independent the abilities of learning, scientific research, communication and innovation.Cloud computing is a kind of computing method based on the Internet. Through this way, resources and information sharing can be offered to computer and other equipments according to users’requirements. Cloud computing can provide more simply, stable and open learning environment for the teaching, and better reinforcement for the exploitation of network learning.The flipped classroom is a fresh novel teaching organization mode. The flip, refers to students and teacher’s role reversal, learning and practice situations turn. By using some teaching materials such as video and interactive courseware, teaching content in the classroom in the past is arranged before class and the students should finish them at home; while the classroom has become the place that the students discuss problems, solve problems and take part in accommodative learning. In fact, in the wake of Khan Academy network learning resources, such as online courses, micro course, Mu class, the excellent courses around the world, "flipped classroom" becomes the core of teaching reform in the information age.In this research report we adopted the literature research, questionnaire investigation method, case analysis, and classroom observation to review the process and the situation of flipped classroom based on cloud computing in the domestic and overseas. We also give the interpretation of the following concepts:"cloud computing", "cloud computing assisted instruction", "cloud classroom", "cloud education" etc. And then through "the application research questionnaire of flip classroom based on cloud computing", we investigate, collect, collate and analyze the study data about the students’ learning effect and experience, and on this basis we summed up the value of "flipped classroom based on cloud computing". In the case of Wuhan No.16 middle school, combined with the characteristics of geography, we discussed application strategies in the middle school geography curriculum of "the flipped classroom" model ground on cloud computing. Finally, we summarized the vantages and disfavor of the teaching model in the application process. We put forward specific measures in view of the existing problems in order to improve upon the effectuation effect of this teaching mode in the middle school geography discipline. Doing this, we aim to provide reference for application study of the future "flipped classroom".
