The Cultural Research Of "leftover Women" Image In Contemporary Chinese Literary Works

"Leftover women" as a social-known words, which have attracted many scholars and the media to investigate and debate them. With the large number of films and novels about "leftover women" has been published, the "leftover women" become the hot topic, and its cultural connotation is also unable to agree. This paper attempts to treat "leftover women" TV dramas and novels as the breakthrough point, in order to study the definition, characteristics and type of "leftover women", explore their values. And combined with the development of feminism in China to reflect on "leftover women" problems of society and the future, so that can have the in-depth study to the "leftover women".This thesis can be divided into six parts, including introduction, four chapters and conclusion. The introduction mainly shows the research background, literature review, research purpose and significance, research ideas and methods. Chapter one study the origin of the word "3S lady" and its definition, and through the study of "leftover women" image in film and television dramas and novels development, interpret the three major characteristics of the "leftover women".Chapter two mainly discusses the type of "leftover women" image in the film and television play and in the novel, reflect the "leftover women" values, including the consumption view, love view and family values. Chapter three mainly reveals China’s "leftover women" facing the traditional and modern wrestling, through the research on the development of feminism in the China, which resulting the dual role conflict and self-cognitive biases of "leftover women".Chapter four reflects "leftover women" image in the aesthetic trend of the contemporary, revealing the "leftover women" image of the deviation in the film, television play and the novel, and revealed the essence of "leftover women" in the realistic society. Although the "Leftover women" are the result of social progress and open and get more room for improvement, but they are still vulnerable groups under the patriarchal culture because they subject to reality factors.The conclusion reflects the future of "leftover women" and analysis of "leftover women" although they deconstruct the traditional construction of female, but it is difficult to construct a new image, only to return to family to attain the identity and social identity. So we call, one day the freedom and equality of rights and interests of "leftover women" will get wider recognition and implement, the human’s relationships, and also fairness and justice can be healthy and coordinated development.
