China is in a social transition period, accompanying by various cultural collisions and integrations. And Chinese traditional cultures face unprecedented challenges. Therefore, the trend of diversification has appeared in all aspects of social and cultural life. As a result, the whole society becomes more complicated and changeable than before, with the collisions and integrations of traditional cultures and their modern factors.Since 2008, the first group students who were born in 1990 entered colleges and universities. All of them are precious human resources to the country, because they are the successors and constructors of the Party and the state. Under the background of social transition, the improvement of the morality of university students, which is the tradition the Party always adheres to, the promotion of university students’ ideological and political education and their all-round development, are the essential requirements for building a harmonious society. Whether judging from the varieties of students’ individuality or the necessity of ideological and political education, understanding and recognizing features of Post-1990 s university students with proper ideological and political education are particularly of great importance.In this thesis, the background, significance and method of the research and current situations of the research at home and abroad were reviewed in the first part. The concepts of Post-1990 university students, social transition, and morality etc were introduced in the second part. The current situation of Post-1990 university students by way of questionnaires and visits was investigated in the third part. Then the analysis of problems and influencing factors also was dealt with in this part. The author put forward working methods and suggestions for the improvement of the morality of Post-1990 university students in the last part of the thesis. Based on the investigation of educational concept, educational mechanism, and educational method, such a conclusion can be drawn: human-centered and equal education is fundamental and the establishment of education-oriented mechanism is the key to the ideological and political education of Post-1990 university students.
