With the presented policy that the development of small towns is a grand strategy to promote the rural economic and social development, and also in the economic and social development trend, the small towns in rural and urban intermediary region rise quickly. The new structure has become an important part of the development strategy in our country, which cannot be ignored, and it also satisfies the needs of constructing the special urbanization with Chinese characteristics. The development of small towns has a supporting role to promote urbanization. Education is the counterpart of economy and they are closely related, influencing each other. Economy is the fundamental guarantee of education, and education promotes the development of economy. The active, orderly and healthy development of small towns cannot do without education. The quality of music education in small town’s primary and secondary schools affects the development of aesthetic education in our country.The thesis is based on the relation between the contemporary socio-economic development of small towns and the music education of small towns, investigating the status quo of the music education in small towns, exploring the problems and deficiencies of the developing small towns and putting forward corresponding countermeasures.The thesis first discusses the relationship between the music education’s development and the socio-economic development of small towns. The research is the music education of the primary and secondary schools in Quyang, which is highly characterized the small towns. The economy of Quyang’s small towns, driven by a series of policies to promote the development of small towns in the country, develops rapidly, so as to promote the development of education. But actual surveys presents some problems that cannot be ignored in music education. The thesis aims to study and analyze these important questions: the current teaching staff of Quyang music education, music curriculum, music education concept, teachers’ and students’ music quality, music teaching material, teaching equipment and the research and development of school-based curriculum.By investigating and studying the status quo of Quyang primary and secondary schools, the thesis summarizes the reasons, puts forward countermeasures and then discusses the music education in the whole province of Hebei. The thesis analyzes the status quo of Quyang’s music education, tries to explore the main factors restricting the development of Quyang’s music education and puts forward corresponding countermeasures, which aim to attract the attention the local education policymakers. The thesis preliminarily explores the development of Quyang primary and secondary schools, even provides some references for the further study of the same shared characteristic as the Quyang music education regions.
