With the development of China higher education and research on organizational sense of belonging, university faculty’s organizational belonging related research has gradually caused the attention of scholars. However, for empirical research, lacking the reliable, effective and standardized measurement instrument has been the major problem. The main purpose of this study is to try to develop the scientific, practical and efficient measurement instrument for related researchers. Therefore, this study discusses the theory, definition and the influence factors of faculty’s organizational sense of belonging by literature research. As the main line of measurement instrument, the main content is focuses on the introducing, sorting, analysis, and summarizing the Chinese and foreign university faculty’s organizational belonging assessment instrument, and discussing the advantages and disadvantages of measuring instrument. On the basis of aboved research, combining with interview, open questionnaires and statistics analysis method, This paper trys to design a suitable questionnaire about Chinese university teachers’ organizational sense of belonging, to provide certain reference and lessons for empirical research in this field.Analyse the data by SPSS18.0 and LISERL8.3 software after two tests, the conclusions drawn by the research are as follows:First, through the critical ration and homogeneity test for items analysis, the items of the university faculty’s organizational belonging structure scale and influence factors scale have a high degree of differentiation and discrimination. The two scales have more ideal internal consistency reliability and structural validity by analysis.Second, the exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis show that university faculty’s organizational belonging includes four dimensions:emotional loyalty, university identity, inclination for hard work and moral responsibility. The influence factors include five factors:personal development, system management, interpersonal atmosphere, work environment and self-efficacy.Third, through studying the effect of demographic variables, it shows the variables of faculty’s age, educational background, the level of professional technical position and university level make differences on teachers’organizational belonging.Fourth, there is a significant correlation between the influence factors and organizational belonging. The regression analysis found that personal development, interpersonal atmosphere, work environment, system management, and self-efficacy all have significant impact on the dimensions of emotional loyalty and inclination for hard work; School identity dimension is influenced significantly by personal development, work environment, system management and interpersonal atmosphere factors; Dimension of moral responsibility has significant linear relationship between personal development, system management, interpersonal atmosphere and self-efficacy four factors.Finally, point at the result of the study, analyse the differences between the compiled questionnaire and the existing measurement instrument, discuss its use value and use limitation. Summarize the deficiencies and give the further research suggestion and prospect. |
