The Research on social mentality provides a new perspective to understand the teacher group of kindergarten for people. The study investigates the social mentality of kindergarten teachers working in the city and explores the mental feeling and reaction of the teacher group of kindergarten under the current social background,attempting to present the overall image and specific condition of city kindergarten teachers’ social mentality. Moreover,the study will also analyze the result and propose suggestions to better the city kindergarten teacher’s social mentality from several aspects. The thesis consists of four parts:The first part: questionnaire development. Based on the consulting literature material, interviewing city kindergarten teachers and others’ advice, the study designs the questionnaire on social mentality of city kindergarten teachers and revises the questionnaire repeatedly. After the process of item analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability and validity testing, the final seven dimensions are reached, namely, career satisfaction, profession identification, sense ofbelonging, sense of stress, sense of social support, the expectation of occupation development, sense of self-efficacy and sense of fairness.The second part: statistical analysis. Altogether 360 questionnaires are issued to 15 kindergartens in Changsha City, and then the collecting data is typed in SPSS20.0 for statistical analysis. The data is analyzed from two aspects: one is the analysis of overall data and the analysis of each dimension, i.e. the analysis of mean value of the data, then judging the overall state of the city kindergarten teacher’s social mentality and carrying out specific analysis for each dimension, to explore status of the city kindergarten teachers’ social mentality between the seven dimensions and within them; the other one is carried out from the analysis of demographic variables and other variables, namely the analysis of differences of city kindergarten teacher’s social mentality in age, seniority, educational background and the property of kindergartens.The third part: discussion. This part discusses the results of data analysis of the second part, mainly inducting and classifying the city kindergarten teachers ’ social mentality and exploring its causes. Besides it discusses theeffects of different age, seniority, education, different nature of city kindergarten on the city kindergarten teachers’ social mentality and the causes of differences.The forth part: recommendations. This part is the extension of the discussion section, mainly on the purpose of solving some problems existing in city kindergarten teachers’ mentality.This part proposes recommendations to improve the city kindergarten teachers’ mentality from four aspects, that is the administrative departments of education, society,kindergarten and preschool teachers themselves.Through the investigation and analysis of city kindergarten teachers’ mentality in Changsha, it has been found that, as a whole, the kindergarten teachers’ mentality is at a good level, in which the career satisfaction, profession identification, sense of belonging, sense of social support and sense of self-efficacy are above the middle level. But there still existing some problems to be solved, the most prominent being the high pressure, low sense of fairness, and negative attitude on career development and so on.
