Due to the popularization of higher education and dynamic international economic situation, the conflict between mass graduates and comparatively less job offers becomes fierce recently. Except for the concern of the employment rate, public gradually pays more attention on the quality of employment. Job satisfaction is a major index of employment quality measurement. Previous researches focused more on the connotation and influencing factors of job satisfaction. Less attention was paid on how career planning influences job satisfaction.This article defines career planning and job satisfaction, discussing the relationship among the three activities of career planning, the demographics of colleges and universities, and job satisfaction. The author makes countermeasures and suggestions on the improvement of job satisfaction based on the research of the effects of career planning on job satisfaction.This article sampled 208 universities graduates from Colleges in Dalian who obtained employment in the past three years through survey. Using the statistical tool of SPSS 20.0, the author analyzed the data by descriptive analysis, T-test, variance analysis, correlation and regression analysis, which shows:(1)The effects f gender, hometowns, and education degree of mother are not significant on the behavior of career planning. In the aspect of major and implementation difference, students majored in literature, law, philosophy, and economic practice more trainings than those who majored in science, engineering, agriculture, and medical; in the aspect of training acknowledgement, there are no differences among majors. In the aspect of family background, graduates from highest household income families rank top on the acknowledgement and implementation of major of career planning. Training acknowledgement from low-income families is better, but the implementation is worse. The acknowledgement and implementation of graduates from middle-income families relatively worse implementation. The implementation of career planning behavior proportional to the education degree of father. There are also some differences in the career planning behavior of graduates concerning their mothers’degree.(2) Job satisfaction is not significantly affected by gender, major, and education degree of parents. In the aspect of family background difference, household income is forward related to graduate job satisfaction. Graduates from higher household income family have higher job satisfaction, but they graduates lower household income family have the highest ratio of how much the job expectancy fits the actual employment feeling.(3) The acknowledgement, training, and implementation of career planning are positively related to job satisfaction significantly. In other words, career planning affected job satisfaction directly. Demographic characteristic variables did not produce a significant role in the invasion process.(4) This article makes countermeasures and suggestions on the improvement of job satisfaction from the aspect of graduates, colleges and universities, and employers.
