Martial arts, as a kind of sports, has a long tradition in China and plays a very important role in history. Since the foundation of the new China, martial arts has become a part of the national traditional sports. Because its unique training effect and characteristic conforms to the development of China’s college students’ mental and physical conditions, it has become an integral part of the ordinary university sports curriculum. Started in the 60 s, martial arts was formally incorporated into the university sports curriculum, loved by the majority of college students ever since. Based on interviews and questionnaire survey to find out the current existing problems in Jilin Province about the martial arts course in university, and for the promotion of all martial arts course colleges and universities in Jilin Province and to carry out the investigation of current situation, obtain the comprehensive information, through the application of statistical method and reasoning to find the main factors which affect martial arts curriculum in Jilin Province university, the analysis of these data is thoroughly carried out and gain more comprehensive evaluation of martial arts curriculum’s development present situation Jilin Province university. In view of the tai chi courses in colleges and universities to meet the diversified demands of the students, colleges and universities to tai chi course will be separated as an example, for promoting martial arts courses in colleges and universities in Jilin Province as a systematically comb, and enhancing and improving the status and influence of martial arts courses in colleges and universities sports curriculum. At the same time, some of the results obtained from the study and theoretical analysis can also be a reference of martial arts curriculum reform in Jilin Province university.This study applies a variety of measures, such as investigation, literature and mathematical statistics, with an extensive investigation, including 44 ordinary institutions of higher learning in Jilin Province, the focus for survey on these schools is different, with the promoted martial arts course of 31 schools. Through the analysis of data, studies have shown that problems of the development of the martial arts courses in college and universities in Jilin Province are in the following:1 Martial arts course itself is the main cause of affecting the development of martial arts courses, and course content factor is among its main influencing factors. As implementers of curriculum implementation, teachers have a significant influence on martial arts courses. Students as the main part of the study, the campus atmosphere and facilities are guarantees for the effective implementation of the martial arts. All the above has important influence on the development of martial arts courses.2 The average age of martial arts teachers in universities of Jilin Province is younger, and the number of male and female teachers have a larger difference. Few teachers are on a professional level, and teachers generally do not have much scientific research, while martial arts courses have students are satisfied3 From the perspective of the school for martial arts course "simplified taijiquan" usually is the main content of teaching. However, it involves very little specialized martial arts theory knowledge, let alone martial arts culture, which results in the so-called “value technology, ignore theory"4 In general, the students who choose the martial arts generally have clearer study purpose. And the arrangement of martial arts teacher and teaching practice are generally accessible to get the students recognition, however, some problems still exist in some schools, puts forward some opinions and Suggestions on this, thus the writer put forward some suggestions as followed: for example, the course is boring, together with its teaching practice. As for the above problems are existing in many universities, and part of university martial arts course facilities is so humble that most students have a lot of disagreements to.
