In the information age, our life and learning styles have been greatly changed by the popularity and wide application of mobile communications devices such as computer, tablet, mobile phones. How to learning is the basic skill for the 21 st century talent in the information society. It is hotly debated for Ubiquitous learning, mobile learning and micro-learning in recent years, and they are deeply attracted by educational researchers and learners. MOOC, flipped classroom, micro-course are gradually well known and applied in specific teaching practice. Modern educational technology in teaching has become an indispensable part.In recent years, with the emergence and rapid development of micro-course, it not only provides us learning conditions with anytime, anywhere, but also injects a new element into traditional classroom and promotes students’ enthusiasm and initiative. micro-course fully can mobilize our vision, hearing and imagination in the process of learning, bring us a different learning experience because it has some characteristics: short content, flexible learning time, lively presentation of content. Though there is certain challenge for traditional classroom to use micro-course, challenge will change the way of teacher’s teaching and student’s learning, and will develop students’ self-learning ability, innovation and practical ability. So, the author research about the micro-course.The paper has four chapters as follows:Firstly, collecting domestic and international literature about the micro-course, understanding domestic micro-course-related research and practice situation, summarizing micro-course concepts and features.Secondly, selecting two specific online cases about micro-course, to analyze teaching target, teaching process and summarize the micro-course design principles. Based on this, referring to learning-centered instructional design model proposed by Professor He Kekang of Beijing Normal University. Building a learning-centered micro-course design pattern and template.Thirdly, before applying to learning-centered micro-course design template, surveying students and instructors frontline in university, to understand situation about students’ usage of micro-course. Applying the learning-centered micro-course design template to the course of "theory of Operating System", and testing the practical teaching effect.Finally, summarizing the contribution and limitations of the study, and put forward the outlook for future research.
