Research On Education Of Values Of College Students In The Context Of Popularization Of The Socialist Core Values

College students are reliable successors and qualified builders to the cause of socialism in China and the important force to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Socialist core values regulate and guide thoughts and behaviour of contemporary college students and popularity of socialist core values is a necessary requirement in today’s society and universities. Thus, value education for college students under the socialist cores values is considered as import subject in the ideological and political education. The value education can combines theory with practice, to help college students establish correct world outlook, the outlook on life and values.In the context of popularization of the socialist core values, this paper investigates college students’ education of socialist core values based on status quo of college students’ values education. It aims at integrating socialist core values into the students’ learning, life and other process. Specifically, this paper will be presented in four sections:The first section is introduction part, which details background of the research, research objective and significance, and existing literature that provides foundation for our following research with respect to research aims and research methodologies. Simultaneously, it provides theoretical foundation for the thesis.The second section is concerned with defining key concepts, such as value, values, core values, popularization and mass education. This part analyses the relationship between the popularization of socialist core values and value education for college students.The third section analyses current situation of students’ values and problems lie in the values education. Currently, college students’ outlook on life and values on the whole is positive, but in the context of cultural diversity and complex network, and facing the impact of western decadent culture, part of the college students’ values have been negatively influenced. This part details the necessity of value education for college students under the socialist core values, as well as opportunities and challenges in the current environment. It finally encourages the value education for college students under the context of socialist core values.The fourth part, the focus of this thesis, primarily states the process and paths of values education in the context of the popularization of socialist core values. The process includes cognition, identity, and practice while the path of the education generally lies in four aspects: exploring the mechanism approach, innovation in effective carrier, strengthening team construction, and building the integrated environment.
