| The education of the primary schools is undergoing a large transformation from the exam-oriented education to the quality-oriented education. Good learning methods and habits have an extremely important significance on the growth of pupils, which also directly affect not only the teaching qualities of the primary schools but also the schools’ sustainable development. Based on the school’s situation, Affiliated Elementary school of F University explores the effective strategies for reducing the pupils’ academic burden by enhancing teachers’ professionalism and adjusting the framework of the school curriculums, and offers the Guided Autonomous Learning Course, aiming to alleviate the burdens on the pupils, develop their self-learning ability and also improve the teaching quality. Combining the theories of management, education and psychology with the many research methods which contains literatures, questionnaires and interview, this school-based research investigates the present status of the Guided Autonomous Learning Course in the Affiliated Elementary school of F University to discover and generalize the characteristics of this course and its existing problems. In view of these problems, the author proposes the appropriate strategies regarding teaching management in the primary school, professional development of teachers and the pupils’ overall growth. |
