The Comparative Study On College Students’ Political Socialization From US And China

The important concept of "political socialization" produced in foreign countries,by the political scientist David Easton first suggested in1958. Though people mayhave different definitions for the concept of political socialization, but in general,political socialization is the social individual accept social political culture educationin social and political interaction, to learn political knowledge, political skills,internalization and political norms, forming political attitude, perfect the politicalpersonality of dialectical process， is self-perpetuating mechanism and functionmechanism of social political system.College students’ political socialization is specifically targeted at this group ofcollege students for research. In this paper, the comparative study on theory andpractice of American and Chinese college students’ political socialization will beresearched from the following several aspects.The first part is introducing the definition of political socialization, to understandthe contents of the college students’ political socialization, which is more convenientfor the following research. The second chapter is a comparative study on Chinese andAmerican college students the similarities and differences in terms of theory; thispaper mainly discusses the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of collegestudents’ political socialization theory of China and the United States. Third chaptercomparative study on the similarities and differences in college students in the aspectof practice, China and the United States is also discussed in practice, the method ofChina and the United States on their own characteristics and advantages anddisadvantages, and then compare the Chinese and American college students’ politicalsocialization in the practical aspects of the same and differences. The last chapter,through the study on theory and practice of American college students’ politicalsocialization, contrast the lack of our country, puts forward some worthy of referenceand improve the points and hope can make contribution to our country collegestudents’ political socialization.
