This study aims to explore the status of personality traits, interpersonalrelationship and school belonging, and to find out the relationship among them. Firstly,the theoretical review about respective research of their relevant factors is conducted.Then it is the systematic study about their characteristics and relationship. Finally, it’sthe analysis about intermediary role of interpersonal relationship between personalitytraits and school belonging. In this study, personality factor questionnaire of themiddle school students, interpersonal comprehensive diagnostic scale and Chineseversion of PSSM are used to investigate848students from four senior high schools inJiangxi province. The results are analyzed by correlation analysis, multivariatevariance analysis and multivariate regression analysis. The followings are majorresults of this study:(1)High school students have good school belonging. Girls’ school belongingare significantly better than boys’. The higher the grade is, the worse schoolbelonging will be. However, their school belonging will strengthen when girlsapproaching graduation. School belonging of key high school students is significantlybetter than ordinary high school students’.(2)High school students’ personality traits have five dimensions. Thedescending order of the five dimensions’ means is: agreeableness, extroversion,prudence, openness, emotionality. Girls’ scores are significantly higher than boys’in extroversion, agreeableness and emotionality, but significantly lower than boys’in openness. The grade difference in extroversion is significant. Students’ scores inGrade One are respectively higher than students’ in Grade Two and Grade Three.Students’ emotionality in Grade Two is the most stable. The only child, urbanstudents and the key high school students have higher scores in extroversion,prudence, openness and emotionality.(3)High school students have a certain degree of interpersonal perplex, but theoverall level is still high. Girls’ interpersonal relationship is more harmonious thanboys’. Students’ interpersonal relationship in Grade Two is the most harmonious.The only child, urban students and key high school students have better interpersonalrelationship.(4)Extroversion, agreeableness, openness and prudence in personality traits respectively shows extremely significant and positive correlation with schoolbelonging. Extroversion, agreeableness and openness have a prediction on schoolbelonging. Interpersonal perplex is negatively correlated with school belonging, and itcan predict school belonging. Extroversion, agreeableness, openness and prudence isnegatively correlated with interpersonal perplex, but emotionality is positivelycorrelated with it. Emotionality can positively predict it, but extroversion andagreeableness can negatively predict it.(5)Extroversion in personality traits impacts on school belonging by two ways. Itcan not only directly impact on school belonging, but also indirectly affect it byinterpersonal relationship. While prudence and openness directly impacts on it.
