Study On The Evolution Characteristics And Mechanism Of Rural Areas’ Function In Jilin Province (1990-2010)

With the rapid socio-economic development and urbanization steadily, interdependenceand interaction between urban and rural is deepening, multifunctional development of ruralareas is required by the new social demands. Special conditions in our country,such as thesmall area of cultivated land per capita, the relatively fragile ecological environment and thedifferent development level among regions, make rural areas faced with a variety ofmultifunctional requirements. Jilin Province is located in northeast China, as an importantmember of the old industrial bases and major grain production bases, the multifunctionaldevelopment of rural areas is essential in its development process, the multifunction of ruralareas varies from single function to diversify. Based on the situation, this essay discussesthe evolution and mechanism of multifunctional development of rural areas in Jilin Provincefrom1990to2010.This essay has five parts, the last is Conclusion.The first part introduces the background and significance of this essay, current researchat home and abroad, methods, technology pathway， and summarizes multifunctionaldevelopment of rural areas, including the concept, characteristics and classification.The second part introduces the influence factors of multifunctional development ofrural areas, including resource, the spread of the regional economic development level,urbanization and industrialization and the policy environment, etc.The third part researches the space-time evolution characteristics of multifunctionaldevelopment of rural areas in Jilin Province. Firstly the present situation of rural areas inJilin province is described, The index system is established for evaluating evolution of thethree functions about40rural areas in Jilin Province from1990to2010, then dataprocessing, the function index calculation, the results is intuitively reflected on the map ofJilin Province for discussing the process of time evolution. Hierarchical clustering andfunctional classification is made in SPSS for discussing the process of space evolution in20years.The fourth part discusses the evolution mechanism of multifunctional development ofrural areas about Jilin Province, including the social and economic mechanism, spacemechanism and time mechanism. The research on social and economic mechanism iscarried out by factor analysis and multiple regression analysis in SPSS; The research onspace mechanism is performed by building a spatial economic model and spatial correlationanalysis; Time mechanism is researched through the qualitative analysis.
