The thesis mainly was aimed at investigating whether the repeated reading combined withself-monitoring strategies has an immediate and durative effect to enhance the dyslexicchildren’s reading fluency and exploring the differences between a single intervention ofrepeated reading intervention reading and the combined intervention with self-monitoringstrategies for students; besides, the thesis examined what kind of errors students made in theprocess of reading and if the summary reading strategies works in reading activities spontaneouslyafter using it.The ABCA′design of single subject research was employed in this study, of which theindependent variable is repeated reading, repeated reading combine with self-monitoring strategies, and the dependent variable the reading fluency. In this study, a third grade Dyslexic student is theresearch object. Study duration lasts six weeks and the experiment was implemented four times aweek. Experimental treatment periods consisted baseline, intervention B, intervention C andmaintenance phase. The effect was measured according to reading speed, reading accuracy andreading prosody as an indicator of the three dimensions, and the resulting data presented in chartsand visual analysis in order to understand their reading immediately and maintain the effectivenessof fluency. The results of this study presents as follows:1. The repeated reading combined with self-monitoring strategies had a significantlyImmediate effect on increasing the students with reading disabilities scores of oral reading fluency.2. The maintenance effects of repeated reading combined with self-monitoring strategies onoral reading fluency for students with reading disabilities were found in this study.3. Repeat single teaching reading intervention and repeated pattern read in conjunction withself-monitoring intervention by visual analysis and interview, the latter reading speed and readingfluency on a better, more conducive to test the reception.4. The major error patterns of subject were mispronunciation, omission and a pause. Therepeated reading combined with self-monitoring strategies could improve correction of consciousness, reduce the oral reading errors, and increase the performance of oral readingfluency.5. Speculation and Lenovo were formed in the reading through repeated reading combine withself-monitoring strategies, has promoted reading fluency. Through social validity analysis, wefound that repeated read combined with self-monitoring strategies in addition to reading fluency, that, in part, can arouse students’ interest in reading, improve reading confidence.6. Reading experience and reading theme is to improve reading fluency conditions. Finally, according to the results of this study, some recommendation for teaching and furtherstudies were made.
