| Since English Curriculum for middle school was issued in2001, the formativeassessment which is a kind of student-centered assessment has been regarded as the main wayof assessment to evaluate students’ performance. Many middle school teachers in our countryimplemented it in their teaching practice which has brought a great influence on the teachingreform in China.Group Sitting-in-a-circle Cooperative Learning(å›´åå¼å°ç»„åˆä½œå¦ä¹ ), a sort ofteaching reform which has been practiced in No.7Middle School in Longquan, Chengdu,pays attention to cultivating student’s autonomous and cooperative learning ability. Itemphasizes on the learning process of students and the assessment to student learning, so FAis widely used in the reform. During the process of the teaching reform, the author found outthe achievements that they have gotten by the way of the questionnaire, interview andclassroom observation, Meanwhile, some problems and hinders are also existed in the presentsituation. So the author gives some suggestions according to these problems and hinders.The purpose, background and significance of the study were introduced in this thesis andthe research questions and framework were also presented. The author stated the definition ofFA and Cooperative learning and the relationship between them and presented the relevantresearches of FA abroad and at home and discussed the deficiencies and problems. Therefore,it pointed out the necessity of the research.This thesis presented the questions to study, methods and research tools in theinvestigation, and collected and analyzed the relevant data of the research. Meanwhile, theachievements of implementing FA in cooperative learning were summarized and the problems and reasons were also analyzed. In the end, it comes as the findings of the study.The author gave some suggestions aiming at the problems of implementing FA in cooperativelearning. |
