Women are an important part of an integral human society. With the constantdevelopment of social gender theory research process, female image research has alwaysbeen a feminist main research object. With the progress of social economy and culture,people’s living standard unceasing enhancement, the public media close degree anddependence degree is increasing day by day and strengthened. Nowadays, mass mediahas been deeply into people’s daily life. Fashion journals, as one of the mass media, theselection of content, the form of updates and expression of opinion have influence on theaudience of recognizing and accepting things. Fashion magazines, of course, the richcontent of enrichment, also cannot leave the topic about women. Although the birth offemale fashion magazine was earlier than male fashion magazine, the appearance of malefashion magazine opens a new road for fashion journals market and injects much of newstrength. This article selects For Him Magazine and Trends COSMOPOLITAN two morerepresentative and influential fashion magazine as the research sample, use the presentingthe image of female from the magazine as a breakthrough point, analyze the similaritiesand differences of female image between these two magazines and the causes of suchdifferences and realistic effects.This article is divided into four parts. The first part is the introduction, as the fulltext of the introduction of the article, describes the research background of the article,related literature and definition of the magazine etc in details. The second part is on thesample magazine For Him Magazine and Trends COSMOPOLITAN constructs femaleimage in the comparison research, concrete cover images from magazines, articles, andthis article illustrated three aspects for text analysis. And then through a series ofstatistics and data analysis, summarize the similarities and differences of female imagebetween For Him Magazine and Trends COSMOPOLITAN. The third part is based on theabove study of two sample magazine, analyzing what caused the differences in femaleimage constructed between the domestic male and female fashion magazines from thehistory and culture, media system, economic business, the audience these four factors.The fourth part is to analyze and summarize what are the effects of the diversity offemale image in the future and how to narrow the diversity between the domestic male and female fashion magazines. Thus for the public to female image provides a morecomprehensive stereo multi-angle, medium for the future puts forward reasonablesuggestions for the construction of female image, promote gender equality consciousnessintangibly, create more space for female words expression and realization of self-worth.
