| Leading-in is not only one of the basic teaching skills of a teacher, but also thevery beginning of important teaching steps in Junior High School English classroomteaching. Although lead-in does not last very long or take too much time in class, itsimportance should never be neglected. Students’ learning interest and motivation canbe stimulated quickly, their thinking can be expanded if the lead-in in a class is carriedout and works in an effective way, which makes them devote themselves to theclassroom teaching in a far better state. In this way, teachers can achieve the goal ofenhancing the teaching efficiency. In China, however, the research into lead-in injunior high school teaching has been made too much so far, most of which is simplyabout the experience of teaching and several lead-in ways without the deep support ofrelative educational theory and detailed class teaching records. At the same time, itlacks variety of lead-in design and criteria for the contents and forms of lead-in.Articles about lead-in design can rarely be seen in the newspaper. In the real classteaching, so many teachers ignore the importance of lead-in or fail to make use of it ina most effective way. Therefore, it is no doubt that the efficiency of the class can beaffected in some sense. The author tries to find out effective teaching methods oflead-in in junior high school class through classroom experiment and research, whichfundamentally helps to enhance the teaching efficiency from the very humblebeginning of a class.In this thesis an experimental research in junior high school in Luzhou wascarried out to test whether lead-in styles of two teachers with different teachingexperience and background can improve junior high school students’ learning interestand overall language proficiency. Based on the present lead-in situation, aquestionnaire survey and comparative analysis of the real lead-in teaching, thenecessity of the experiment in search of effective lead-in methods was determined by the author. Through a term’s experiment research, a summary of effective lead-inmethods as well as variety of lead-in design and criteria for the contents and forms oflead-in was made at last. |
