| The group cooperative learning is a very creative teaching strategy whichhas been adopted in many countries all over the world. Because its proficientefficiency, it has been recognized as the most significant and successfulteaching innovation during the recent years. With the popularization of theNew English Curriculum Standards (Experimental Edition) and the NewCurriculum Reform, the Group Cooperative Learning has become anincreasingly popular trend of modern high school teaching. The GroupCooperative learning has been widely applied in the English teachingrecently.This thesis is based on observing the problems existing in currentteaching and learning and gives a brief introduction to the Group CooperativeLearning, then after summarizing the previous research on cooperativelearning at home and abroad, proposes the importance and necessity of theGroup Cooperative Learning, and then carries out a research on the effects ofthis method on English vocabulary learning in high school.According to the research, conclusions can be drawn that the applicationof the Group Cooperative Learning method can enhance students’ motivationof Cooperative Learning, improve students’ learning attitudes towards theEnglish vocabulary. At the same time, this learning strategy can combine withother English vocabulary learning strategies to improve the students’ability inlearning vocabulary and strengthen the students’ interests in learning Englishvocabulary. It also can improve their academic scores as well as their relations.At the same time, it also can improve their relations with teachers. The authorhopes the results of the research can offer certain implications for other instructors engaged in high school English vocabulary teaching to improvethe vocabulary teaching efficiency. |
