In the common senior high school, especially in Senior Grade One, most studentscan’t adapt themselves to their new English teachers’ teaching methods and which hascaused the transition problems.The existing poor transition of Grade One in Englishteaching and learning is a problem challenging all the English teachers and Grade Onestudents in high school. The transitional period of senior students is a very importantproblem. If we can solve the transition problems well, the Grade One students wouldquickly adapt to the new learning environment.It can help them to build up theirconfidence, lay a solid foundation for learning English well, and promote the wholehigh school English teaching. If the transition stage of teaching processes is not good, itwill reduce students’ English learning motivation greatly and students will lose interestin English.It will directly affect the students’ English learning, even the whole highschool life.During the internship, the author found that high school students are generally notadapt to the new learning environment of high school and English teaching. In thissituation, the author hopes to find out the the reason and the solutions. With theinvestigation, it can help students’ Engsh learning,and it can provide first-hand data forhigh school English teacher.In this paper, the author uses the questionnaire survey method, literature method,interview method and other methods. With the investigation of the students’ learningsituation and the present situation of English teaching, the author explains the transitionproblems from two parts which are teachers and students. In conclusion, teachers shouldstrengthen the professional quality, understand curriculum deeply, improve students’English learning motivation, etc. Students should know the learning objectives clearly,cultivate positive learning attitude, and develop learning habits.
