A Group Plan On Korean Minority Cultural Identity Of Youth In Yanbian

Korean National Minority is one of the important part of56minorities in China, and is also an inseparable force of modernization construction of China. Due to the historical and ethnic reason, most people of Korean National Minority live in the northeast part of China where they played an important role not only in the war through out the history but also in the development of modernization construction. The continuing economic development of Northeast area also promotes the economic development of Korean minority area and life quality of people there have also been improving. However, with the development of living standard, the culture of Korean Minority are being forgotten, violated under which circumstances, exploration and study of the Korean Minority cultural identity are very important theoretically and practically.Among the Korean Minority Youth in Yanbian, less and less of them can speak their own language, wear traditional clothes, sing their country music and know the folk dance. At the same time, even the old know less about the history and customs of Korean Minority. While studying some outstanding achievement of civilization, the problem about how to protect, inherit and uphold the Korean Minority’s own culture has become an instant mission.In the Korean Minority area in Yanbian, with the advancement of modernization, traditions and cultures of Korean Minority come under attack, which in turn affect national education. Korean Minority youths are important group in Korean Minority and are also the main group of Korean Minority cultural education, whose value on national identity is related to the development of Korean Minority education and culture. Moreover, it concerns the transmission and development of the whole nation. Thus, the study of Korean Minority cultural identity of youth are of great importance.This essay has a survey of the Korean Minority youths in Yanbian, starting by minority culture, minority cultural identity, and the sense of Korean Minority culture and analyzing minority cultural identity and significance of protection. In the research, some volunteered Korean Minority youths in Yanbian were recruited and grouped, and the project is designed with group work. Korean Minority traditions and cultures are introduced by group work which make Korean Minority youths have a deeper understanding of their own traditions and culture.
