| With the development of society and the advancement of the age, English gains more and more attention from people worldwide. Vocabulary teaching is one of the indispensable components of foreign language teaching. Successful and effective vocabulary teaching directly determines whether the goals of foreign language teaching can be achieved or not.Since the1980’s, task-based teaching has gained attention from educators and teachers at home and abroad. They make research continuously on task-based language teaching model and take measures to put it into practice in class. In English teaching, it’s required that students should not only master the pronunciation, spelling and meaning of vocabulary, but also use vocabulary they’ve learnt in proper context. Task-based teaching combines the learning of language form with practical use of language in communication. Based on the problems existing in traditional teaching method, this thesis aims to discuss task-based language teaching applied in English vocabulary teaching in order to improve the comprehensive ability of students to utilize language.This thesis focuses on the application of TBLT in senior high school. After analyzing concept and application of task-based teaching theory, the author puts forward overall design plan and specific teaching measures.98senior high students from No.5Middle School in Hangu are chosen as experimental subjects.48students are in experimental class, and50in control class. The experiment was performed in the first term of school year2012-2013. Through collecting data and information, comparison and analysis are made. The experimental results show that task-based language teaching has obvious advantages in stimulating students’ interest, which is helpful to improve their grades and language proficiency as well. |
