In recent years, emotional management has become a significant topic which hasincreasingly caused widespread concern in the community. Because of frustrated familyexperience, children of single-parent families share more emotional vulnerability and aremore easily to drown in negative emotions. This paper attempts to combine social workstudy and practice to intervene in children of single-parent families with emotionalmanagement skills training and upgrading from the perspective of social work. First, theauthor grasps the emotional development of clients, and the symptoms and reasons of badmood, and estimates their needs of emotional management. Secondly, the author uses themethod of group social work, to plan, organize and implement specific social workintervention. Finally, the author evaluates the effectiveness of social work intervention,sums up the experience gains and losses. Practice has proved that, in social work, with"self-reliance" service concept, the use of appropriate methods of social work, socialworkers can effectively help children from single-parent families develop and enhanceemotional management skills.
