Since entering China in1994, the internet develops rapidly by virtue of its powerful function of learning, entertainment and office. According to the latest survey, as in December2013,the scale of China’s Internet users reached618million, The Internet penetration rate of was45.8%.The promotion of the internet in campus, on one hand provides a variety of resources, is good for creating ways of ideological and political education; on the other hand brings many challenges to the ideological and political education. To better address these challenges, this paper try to provide a solution for the ideological and political education by learning the theory of communication.The preface of the paper firstly introduces the research background and significance, the domestic and foreign research of this subject, and then describes the ideas and methods of this paper.The body portion comprises four parts:The first part is an overview of network communication. Firstly, this section explains the concept of the network communication, and then summarize the six characteristics of network communication. Finally, this section also points out ideological and political education is essentially a communication activity.The second part analyzes the impact of network communication on ideological and political education, including both opportunities and challenges. Opportunities include widened the time and space resources of the ideological and political education, enrich the methods of ideological and political education, and improve the dissemination of results; the main challenges are the challenges for education communicators, audience, content and ways.The third part uses network communication theory to improve the dissemination effect.In this section, the author draws such theories as "gatekeeper theory","spiral of silence theory","media literacy theory","persuasion theory" to control the spread of the education content, to improve media literacy education of both sides, to innovative methods of ideological and political work, to create a good environment for ideological and political education.
