The competition between universities is actually the rivalship of their talentedfaculty. For the shortage of educational appropriations, less city appeal to talents aswell as the short history, the problems of the construction of teaching troop innewly-built colleges and universities are more serious. Hence, they have to study thecurrent situation deeply, summarize and analyze the problems and improve teachers’incentive mechanism so as to bring teachers’ enthusiasm and initiative into full play,strengthen the attraction to top talents and improve teaching efficiency together withoverall competitiveness.With the methods of inductive analysis plus the combination of theoretical andpractical research, based on the theory of motivation and the successful experience inteaching faculty incentive measures at home and abroad, the paper does research onthe teachers’ incentive mechanism in Putian University.This paper first introduces the background of teachers’ incentive mechanismconstruction in Putian University, including unreasonable teaching structure, theoriginal employment system hitting teachers enthusiasm, the difficulty in bringing inhigh-end talents and training task and unfair salary allotment, etc., and thensummarized its principles. The author also introduces and analyzes the mechanismstructure from the following aspects: the post appointment and performanceevaluation incentive, compensation, training, education and talent introductionincentives. Finally, the paper points out the current incentive mechanism is vulnerable,and puts forward some suggestions for further improvement.
