In order to investigate the status of Physical Education majors students’ learningstrategies of Northwest Normal University and its influencing factors, the literaturereview, interviews, questionnaires, logical method, mathematical statistics method andother research methods were employed in this study.This paper elaborates a different understanding of the concept, structures andthe development of the learning strategies produced changing with the times, and alsodiscusses the significance of learning strategies. Combining theory with practice, theauthor discusses the researches on learning strategies abroad and at home from twoaspects, and combs the parties in Physical Education Majors’ learning strategies,proposes the current problems that exist in sports majors, as well as explores resolvedmethods to the problems.Through fully understanding of the concept of physical education majorsstudents’ learning strategies, learning strategy in this paper is divided into two parts,namely, learning strategies of athletics skills and learning strategies of theoreticalknowledge. By learning the formed strategic scales from home and abroad, referringto the same or similar titles in these questionnaire, the author compiles thequestionnaire by himself. In consultation with the experts and first-line teachers ofPhysical Education Institute of Northwest Normal University, the draft of thequestionnaire was cut, modified, and finally created the formal questionnaire oflearning strategy which contains57questions, four subscales, and is used as theQuestionnaire of Physical Education Majors Students’ Learning Strategies ofNorthwest Normal University.In this thesis, based on the study of288physical education majors students’learning strategies of athletics skills and theoretical knowledge, throughquestionnaires, the author made the investigations about students’ learning strategiesof athletics skills and theoretical knowledge. The resulting of data was derived fromthe data collection, data reorganization, and data analysis, aiming at finding out thestudents’ existing learning strategies, and their deficiencies to guide the students tolearn how to carry out strategies more effectively through the aimed cultivation andtraining. More importantly, the author explores how to train the students to masterlearning strategies in teaching and the ability to use learning strategies, provides thereference for the teaching reform of college sports professionals.The results are showed as follows:1. There are obvious differences among different grades college students’ learningstrategies of athletics skills, the level of learning strategies of athletics skills increasedcorrespondingly with the growth of the grade, there is no overall significant differencein first grade and second grade; the first grade is significantly lower than the thirdgrade and fourth grade in the meta-cognitive strategies and resources managementstrategies. The learning strategies of theoretical knowledge, in contrast, the first gradehas a clear advantage on theoretical knowledge.2. Generally, in different gender college students’ learning strategies of athletics skills,boys better than girls. The specific conclusions: there are significant differences between girls and boys in cognitive strategies and meta-cognitive strategies; there aresignificant differences between girls and boys in emotional strategies; while bothsides agreed on the same level of resources management strategies. On the learningstrategies of theoretical knowledge, girls are better than boys. On the cognitivestrategies, meta-cognitive and affective strategies, girls better than boys. There is nosignificant difference on resource management strategies.3. There is no significant differences in different majors in learning strategies ofathletics skills and theoretical knowledge and kept in the consistency on the overalllevel.
