Along with the deepening of higher education institutional reform, an increasing numberof students are admitted into higher education institutions which have to start new campusdistricts. Although these newly established districts have made up for the teaching spaces andresources, they also bring along new problems, such as the management model of the newdistricts, the cultural transmission between old and new districts and the student managementproblem. Therefore, it is of practical significance to explore the management problem ofmultiple campus districts.Aiming at comprehensive universities, this study attempted an analysis of themanagement models of the multiple campus districts of the two leading universities inGuangdong Province: Sun Yat-sen University and South China University of Technology.Through comparing their managing structures, costs, campus cultures and student autonomies,we found the commonalities of the management problems of multiple campus districts, andanalyzed both internal (universities) and external (government) influencing factors. In orderto improve the situation of multiple campus districts management, this study made thepropositions in five aspects. We suggested that universities in Guangdong Province shouldremain open to and flexible in handling various problems. Due to the fact that the explorationof multiple campus districts management is an extremely complex and challenging systematictask, the completion of it needs us to be open and creative. Through this study, we madeseveral suggestions in hope to help improve the multiple campus districts managementsituation in Guangdong province.
