Medical ethics education in medical colleges is an important element of Constructionof Civic Virtue in China. Medical colleges, the cradle of medical workers, shoulder heavyresponsibilities for the development of reserve forces of socialist healthcare system. Inrecent years, with the deepening reform of socialist market economy and higher educationsystem and shortening cycle time of medical models, examination technique andupgrading medicine, medical ethics education in medical colleges meets difficultchallenges. Therefore, the question of how to improve the current situation of medicalethics education becomes the focus of medical ethics educators and needs urgently to bedealt with.With the advance of aesthetic theory and the fully development of interdisciplinaryintegration, it has become a trend for medical ethics educators in medical colleges to try touse aesthetic theory to tackle realistic issues in the medical ethics education. Aesthetics,beyond secular and utilitarian reach, can provide people with ultimate concerns whichcoincides with the fundamental purpose of medical ethics education. Meanwhile, it isessential to provide aesthetic compensation for elements of medical ethics education andits dynamic process. In order to explore the internal aesthetics factors, medical ethics education should undergo aesthetic transformation and achieve visualization,emotionalization, pleasantness and appreciation. All these approaches will make medicalethics education vivid and interesting and transform medical ethics education process fromteachers’ boring preaching to students’ active and pleasant pursuit. Eventually, medicalcollege students will actively yearn for and pursue beauty and continuously refine theirown personality. Medical ethics education with aesthetics will be poetic, and it willeliminate the shortcomings of indoctrination in traditional education, improveeffectiveness of medical ethics education and ensure healthy development of medicalethics education in medical colleges.Our article, from the pespective of aesthetics, studied the existing related problems inmedical ethics education in medical colleges. Firstly, origin of problems was introduced,as well as significance of the topic, research status, innovation, research objectives,content and method of our study. Secondly, on the basis of definition and analysis ofrelated concept, the topic of aesthetic model of medical ethics education in medicalcolleges was put forward with reality foundation. The significance of the topic wasanalyzed from the perspective of “culture”,“philosophy” and “spirit”. Thirdly, accordingto the current condition of medical ethics education in medical colleges,200clinicalmajors were selected at random to fill in the self-designed questionnaires. The results wereanalyzed to draw a conclusion about achievements and problems in medical ethicseducation. The causes of low efficiency of medical ethics education was analyzed fromaesthetic perspective. The aesthetic causes included “loss of spirit beyond”,“absence ofestablishment of aesthetic sense”,“negligence of psychological distance” and “effacementof aesthetic emotion”. Finally, this article talked about the theoretical misunderstanding inthe construction of aesthetic model of medical ethics education in medical colleges, andput forward the principles of practice of construction.
