Study Of Chen Yun’s Thoughts Of The Clean Government Building At The Initial Stages For Reform And Opening-up

Comrade ChenYun is one of the key members of the first generation of central collective leaderships in which Comrade Mao Zedong acted as the core, as well as the important member of the second generation in which Comrade Deng Xiaoping was as the core. He was appointed as a member of the Central Party Affairs Committee in the Fifth Plenary Session ofthe Sixth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1934 and then he was engaged in discipline inspection affairs. It was 9 years for Comrade Chen Yun to work as the chief secretary of the Central Commission for Disciplined Inspection from the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the CPC and made outstanding contributions to the clean government building.Based on Chen Yun’s thoughts of the clean government building at the initial stages for reform and opening-up, there are mainly three aspects which have been discussed deeply in this paper.Firstly, this paper introduces the background and development course on the formation of Chen Yun’s thoughts on the clean government building at the initial stages for reformand opening-up. It systematically expounds his contributions to the formation and development of new CCDI with the courage and boldness as a proletarian revolutionary when he worked as the chief secretary of CCDI at the initial stages for reform and opening-up.Secondly, this paper elaborates the content of Chen Yun’s thoughts on the clean government building at the initial stages for reform and opening-up. The content includes the work practices like setting things right, the organizations of discipline inspection,combating economiccrime, the construction of socialist spiritual civilization when Chen Yun worked as the chief secretary of CCDI during 9 years.Thirdly, this paper explores the real value of Chen Yun’s thought on the clean government building.It can be argued that Chen Yun’s series thoughts of clean government building offer a valuable reference to the reform of current discipline inspection system so as to the construction of anti-corruption in China. His thoughts such as the urgency and long-term of clean government building; the sustainable education of the Party discipline; the resolute curb of ideological privilege and to grasp the principles of the Party and strengthen the party’s discipline during socialist spiritual civilization have important practical significance to further promote the work of discipline inspection and construct honest political environment.
