Research On Professional Dedication From People-oriented Perspective

Socialist core values refer to values and ideas which can embody the socialist essence, reflect social mainstream consciousness and restrict social development direction in socialist countries. From the individual level, dedication relates to the realization of everyone’s self-worth. From the national level, it determines the nation’s prosperity or decline, success or failure. Therefore, conducting thorough research on professional dedication and making it the personal, national and even all mankind’s value pursuit is of important theoretical value and practical significance.Professional dedication has long been recognized and advocated energetically by China. There are deep academic studies on professional dedication. These studies have promoted the development and perfection of the professional dedication. However, it can be found that there are rare studies which thoroughly focused on people’s needs and emotional appeal and always highlighted human’s subject status. People-oriented emphasizes that it is necessary to meet people’s needs, rely on the power of the people, improve people’s abilities, regard people as the main bodies of practical activities and highlight people’s important status in social development to realize development. Therefore, from the concept of people-oriented, this paper puts the study of professional dedication in the dimension of people’s practical activity, which will be conducive to enriching and perfecting the connotation of professional dedication and help people grasping the essence of professional dedication. Reversing the traditional view that people always regard professional dedication as a kind of noble professional ethics and define that dedication is the most important way to realize people’s value pursuit can only make professional dedication be unknowingly internalized in mind and externalized in practice.Based on sorting out theoretical origins of professional dedication at both ancient and modern times and both in China and foreign countries, this paper reexamines the connotation of modern professional dedication. The connotation of modern professional dedication is multidimensional and symbiotic. It is the comprehensive expression of self-love, dedication, loyalty, incorruption, love for community and innovation. Self-love makes people have the ability to love others and dedication allows people to win due rewards; loyalty makes people do things without distractions and incorruption sublimates a person’s soul; love for community makes people dwell together in harmony and concord and innovation helps people never feel underwhelmed. Only people really grasp the connotation of professional dedication, they can consciously resist temptations in social development. Based on the careful analysis and grasp of the connotation of modern professional dedication, through the investigation of subjective factors(cognition, desire, emotion and will) and objective factors(economy, politics, culture and education) affecting the formation of professional dedication, this paper tries to explore effective ways to cultivate professional dedication from people-oriented perspective: on the basis of strengthening professional subjects’ self-cognition, relative departments should attach great importance to the career planning and training, conduct innovative social ways to evaluate professional dedication and create good social and cultural environments for the implementation and growth of modern professional dedication.
