| The notion on the youth refers to the general view and basic idea of the position and function of the youth, which is the soul and basic principle for making policies and managing affairs of the youth. The Communist Party of China, established for 95 years, has a unceasingly deepen and expanding notion on the youth, especially within the 38 years of carrying out the Reform and Opening up policy. With the continuous economic and social development, the new situations and new tasks have enriched the connotation of the party’s notion of the youth. The yang people in the Party has ensured The Communist Party of China to be vigorous after experiencing numerous ups and downs, because they are full of ideals and willing to sacrifice for the noble cause. This paper aims to classify the Communist Party of China’s notion on the youth and the development of the youth during the period of applying the Reform and Opening-up policy to build the socialistic country with Chinese characteristics.This paper falls into five parts. Chapter one is the introduction, which will expound the significance of the research, the status and the context of the research will also be mentioned, thus to analyze the defects of the present research to raise the worthwhile topics.Chapter two will be divided into three parts. Firstly, based on some fundamental concept, it clarifies the definition and the concept of youth; Then it will embark from the theory origin to elaborate the classical Marxist writers’ view on the youth, mainly including the Marx,Engels, Lenin, to list their basic understanding of the youth under the given social background of that time, which has become the most important theoretical basis of the Communist Party of China’s view on the youth. Finally, it will expound the development of the Communist Party of China’s view on the youth throughout the history of 95 years.Chapter three and chapter four will discuss the main content of the Communist Party of China’s view on the youth, after applying the Reform and Opening-up policy. This section will be developed along two paths: Chapter three will apply some of the Party Congress documents, which will include the report of the Party Congress, the greeting to the Chinese Communist Youth League Members of Congress, the report of the anniversaries of establishing the Party and the League. Other documents, such as the record of the talk with the new leadership of the team, the talk with youth representatives, the letters and inscription will also be included. These documents contain three points, the analysis of youth’s social value and historical role, young cadre selection and young talent cultivation.The fourth chapter will adopt the successive "May 4th" speech of the Party’s main leaders since the reform and opening-up to classify the Party leader’s view on the youth, mainly concerning the important role of youth, youth work and the development of the youth.Chapter five will concentrate on the new development view of the Communist Party of China on youth, since the 18 th Party Congress. The report of the 18 th Party Congress concerning the relationship between the Party and the youth will be served as the starting point, the actions of the youth and cultivating the socialist core values will be the main line in the argumentation. Guided by the new mission of the youth in the new age, this chapter will expound the new development of the Chinese the new central collective leaders’ concept on the youth characterized with Marxism.The concept of youth is a historical process with constant development. In the long history of practice, the party masters the youth can grasp the future. The Communist Party of China has always put great emphasis on the development of the youth, regarding it as the key to the development of the Party and the State. The youth has been treated as the driving force for the thriving of the party and the people. The Party has been enthusiastically encouraging and firmly supporting the young people to realize their life ideal and ambition in effecting the noble cause. Research on the development of the Party’s notion on the youth since the Reform and Opening up can not only be conducive to the correct understanding of the development of youth in the new situation, but also be helpful in training national youth talents, who will contribute greatly to the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the realization of the great national revival. Thus to strengthen the country’s comprehensive national strength and to improve the international status. |
