The Study On Prison Cultural Construction

In our country, people-oriented and development of human is the basis and content elements of the goal for building a moderately prosperous society till the year of 2020. Being well-educated as a needs and development form of a man, it’s apart from the work, labor and practice. On another hand, it’s also the foundation and the summary of work, labor and practice. Education is a way to form a human value, but also a means to form the social value. As the special of the community, prison is a part of society. The purpose of prison is reforming inmates. The work of education reform in the prison is gradually showing its prominence and positive advantage.Since the Department of Justice proposed the work ethic as the primary standard, the work of reformring inmates turns to pay attention on education. In another word, the results of education and reform are based on the adaptation of the inmates to the community, environment and new life when they returned to society. Based on this, the core architecture of modern prison work conception include the following three contents:First, people-oriented; second, administering prison; third, scientific reform. They are comply and rely on each other and co-construct a unique prison corrective education system. Among them, the core is people-oriented, the basic requirement is administering prison, the fundamental method is scientific reform, the ultimate goal is to reform inmates.Construction of the prison culture is laid in prison by architecture, art, culture and other hardware, software facilities for fully creating a good learning, working and living environment. It works with a strong cultural environment to enrich and enhance the spiritual world of inmates to improve the reform education quality. Then, it allows the released inmates to quickly and better adapt to society after the prison and reduces the recidivism rate. It’s a complex systematic project to construct prison culture. Each of the prisons’ history and constitute of inmates is different. Each of the inmates’ educational level and length of sentence is also various. There’s no standard of construction to follow, the method of constructing prison culture has also no formula to easily solve the problem.This paper takes an example of the First Prison of Taiyuan to study the prison culture construction. Exploring and summarizing the good practices and experiences may put forward optimizing education reform model of prison cultural construction to wish to give an sample to learn from.
