Nicholas I can be regarded as a last absolute autocratic monarch in the history of Russia. Tsar Alexander II who was the successor of Nicholas I carried out the bourgeois reform in 1861, although the reform was not complete, but Russia embarked on the path of development of capitalism. Tsar Alexander I who was the predecessor of Nicholas I led Holy Alliance and he was the arbiter of European affairs.In the period of Nicholas I, Nicholas I led the Russian to play the role of the European Gendarmerie.But later the Crimean War made Russia fall into the abyss from the summit of the European continental hegemony.
