Study In The Intervention Of Social Work Into The Community Correction

Community correction is to correct the criminals by putting the criminals in an open community, therefore, it realizes from imprisonment to the non imprisonment penalty. It is the second leap of the penalty execution mode. Our country began to try it in 2003, issued in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shandong, totally six provinces(cities), expanded the scope of this work in 2005, and carried it out in 2009 in a nationwide scope. In 2011, in the "criminal law amendment(eight)", the community correction achieved major historic breakthrough from scratch in the "criminal law", the legal system of community correction has been established initially in our country. Practice has proved that China’s community correction improves the treatment effect of the criminal penalty execution, saves the cost, eliminates the disharmony of society more effectively, and maintains social stability and unity. This paper further studies the social work intervention on community correction on the basis of the previous research, aims at the relationship between social work and community correction and analyses the ways of social work intervention into community correction.This paper studies the social work intervention into community correction mainly by means of literature analysis, case analysis and survey interviews as research methods. In addition to the last part as a conclusion, there are totally five chapters. This paper first defines the background and significance of the topic. The second part reviews the related concept and the theory. The third part reviews the development of community correction. It focuses on the analysis of the problems of community corrections. The fourth part analyzes the realistic necessity of the intervention of social work in community correction with the opinions. Finally, the paper explores the four methods on the social work intervention path of community correction: one is to improve the relevant legislation; the second is to choose the appropriate social work intervention manners; the third is to establish an efficient talent team; the fourth is to strengthen the specification and supervision of the intervention of community correction in the social work.This paper studies the contents to be perfected in the practice of domestic and foreign community correction, inductively summarizes the typical problems that are universal, representative, and should be paid attention to. This project bridges two major areas between social work and community correction. By using the theory of governance and empowerment theories to analyze the process of social work intervention in community correction, the paper deepens the two theories on the positive effects of community correction in China; meanwhile, it provides further reference for the research and analysis on the intervention of social work in community correction.
