Comparative Research On Labeling System Legislation Of Genetically Modified Foods Between China And Europe

With the rapid development of Genetic Engineering Techniques, Transgenic Technology are widely applied to the field of food. However, up to now, as a product of recombinant DNA technique, The safety of genetically modified Foods(GMF) has not yet reached an agreement by the scientists, which lead to widespread concern from all circles of the society. Given the complexity and special characteristics of genetically modified foods, it leads to many problems in the actual operation. So solving this by theory and system is really urgent.This paper uses the method of comparative analysis, comparing convergence and contrast differences by sorting through legislation on GMF of China and the EU area, analyzing lack of GMF labeling laws and regulations, learning advanced experience from European Union, so as to supply better recommendations to the GMF labeling legislative system of our country. Hoping to provide reference for improving China’s GMF labeling system, promote the healthy development of the food market.
