The Investigation For The Current Psychological Health Situation And Psychological Demands Of People With Physical Disabilities

With the development of our society, more and more people begin to pay attention to the well-being of the disables.The well-bing of one single disabled person affects the well-being of the family who stand behind.By the end of 2010,there are 24,720,000 people suffered from physical disability,which is 29% of the whole population for the disabled, and is higher than other types of disability. Most people believe that because of the disability of the body, they are likely to have phychological prombles.Most of the research before used quantitative examination, thus it could not help fully understand the phychological condition and their request of phychological service. So this experiment chooses to take projective test, self-peport inventory and interviewing method combined to study the phychological condition and their request of phychological service, and try to establish a phychological service system for the disabled in Lian Hu District,and provide theory and guidancc.This study consists of 2 parts. The 1st part is empirical study,which is divided into 3 sub-studies,the 1st one aims to discuss the relationship of the characteristic of House-Tree-People Drawing and Symptoms of Self-assessment Test(SCL-90) to understand the prospect of the House-Tree-People Drawing in disabled people.Tools of the study are Tools are House-Tree-People Drawing and Symptoms of self-assessment test, participants are 83 persons with disabilities registered at Lian Hu District.The analysis of Fang Shuren Test uses 43 items which were brought forward in former study before, and assessment are done by the manual.The 2nd is to use Symptoms of self-assessment test and social support scale combined to disscuss the psychological conditions, social support conditions and their relations.The 3rd are separate interviews with 6 disabled persons,2 psychological workers on psychological health of disabled people and 1 staff woking at the federation.The results have been made after the interviews.The 2nd part sets out from the point of view of the government,hospitals,psy-chological facilities,research institutions and communities to bring out the idea of building a service system for the disables.The study has reached certain conclusions below:1. As to the pratical applications for Fang Shuren Test, somatization, force, anxiety, depression, terror, paranoid are clearly relevent to the factors that are corresponding to the symptoms self-assessment, which suggests that projective tests are suitable to the invastigation of the psychological health of thedisabled.2. The degree of social support and psychological health for the disabled are below the national degree, and their degree of psychological health has negative correlation with social support, the scores for the symptoms self-assessment are higher when the marks of social support are low.3. The factors that affect the disabled people’s psychological health can be divided into family, society and individuals. Family and society are specially important. The charateristics of people with disability are sensitive, fragile, feeling inferiority and with high self -esteem. As to their demands for psychological health service, we mainly need knowledge popularization and psychological health service combined to satisfy their demands for psychological health. In general, the fundamental thing to raise the degree of psychological health for people with disability is to promote the degree of social integration, this will need efforts and help from all society.
