A Study On The View Of Happiness For Chinese Communists During The Period In Yan’an

Happiness is an old and eternal topic. Since the beginning of human history human beings have always been on the road to explore and pursue it. What is happiness and how to get the real happiness are problems that human beings are constantly thinking about throughout their lives. The concept of happiness, which plays a decisive role in its formation, is a general and basic view of happiness in the system of life philosophy. Different concepts lead to different feelings. Similarly, the concept of happiness will play an active role in social practice of people and affect the development of society as a relatively stable consciousness.The Communist Party of China, who goals to realize the happiness of people, had led the Anti-Japanese War, the democratic revolution, the large-scale production campaign and the education development as a series of struggle during the period in Yan’an. And these are also practices which are leading to happiness.13 years in Yan’an, under the guidance of Marxist concept of happiness, Chinese Communists’concept of happiness with its own characteristics had been formed, combining with their concrete practice of revolution. Based on the Marxist concept of happiness and the various factors that affect happiness, this dissertation, aiming at learning experiences benefits for current people, combining with the special environment faced in Yan’an period, summarizes the main content about happiness of the Chinese Communists and makes suggestions to the construction of current happy society from the perspective of positive outlook on life and values.The dissertation contains five parts:The first part is an introduction that states the research backgrounds, research status, research methods and innovation points in it. The second part introduces the concept of happiness and the factors that affect it, which pointing out that Marxist concept of happiness is scientific and comprehensive, meanwhile, stating its basic contents and main characteristics. The third part, based on the analysis of cultural tendency and time factor, introduces the historical conditions that the happiness of Chinese communists was formed during the Yan’an period, which include the background of that time, the realistic foundation, and the value pursuit. The fourth part summarizes the main content of the happiness of the Chinese communists during the Yan’an period, pointing out that hardworking is an implementation way to happiness, serving the people is a basic source for happiness, good morality is an important source in happiness, and law-abiding is a fundamental guarantee of happiness. The fifth part, based on summarized the main contents of the happiness of the Chinese communists during the Yan’an period, in view of the current social happiness, builds several suggestions.The dissertation studies the Marxist concept of happiness, taking Yan’an period as the background, the communist party of China as the main research subject, analyzes and summarizes the Yan’an period Chinese communists’ simple concept of happiness. I hope the communists’ concept of happiness in this period can give some enlightenment on contemporary people, help us to know the true meaning of happiness, has import and realistic significance to consciously resist hedonism, materialism, individualism, and other negative concept of happiness, and to establish a correct concept of happiness.
