Study On The Countermeasures Of Promoting Government’s Credibility In The Network Age

The authority and legitimacy of the government is determined by the government’s credibility, and it is the tireless pursuit goals to enhance the government’s credibility by government all over the world. With the arrival of the network age, it brings great convenience to people’s life, and also brings great challenges to the government’s credibility. In the network age, it is big challenge for the government to get the trust and support from people and promote the government’s credibility.This dissertation’s background is the rapid development and prosperity of the network,it defines the concept and characteristics of network age and the government’s credibility,discusses the positive influence and negative effects what the network age brought to the government’s credibility, and take the "Shifang incident" for example, points out the problems of government’s credibility in network age, including that the government information was not open and caused the public to question the government; the government ignored public opinion led to public mistrust of the government; the ability deficiency of handling the crisis led to public dissatisfiction with the government; officials corruption led to the loss of government’s credibility.the causes of the problems of government’s credibility mainly include social environment, government and network.Finally, I give some sugguestion from the two angles of government abilities building and actively respond to the challenges in network age to promote the government’s credibility, including improve the administrative concept, perfect the system, promote the government administration according to law, using the network platform to promote citizen participation, improve the rational quality of citizen participation, strengthen monitoring and management of the network public opinion,etc.
