From Folk Banter To Official Commitment

The fundamental question of this paper is how folk discourse interacts and games with official discourse in public event. It could be further divided into two questions. Firstly, how folk discourse and official discourse frame its discourse space for one public event? Secondly, what rule does this two discourse subjects follow when the interaction and game happen? This paper selected the word APEC BLUE as an example, analyzing how this joking internet word finally be acknowledged and used by official media and government.This research finds that:the interaction of folk and official discourses is similar to two overlapping circles. They resonate in the overlapping part and build different discourse systems in independent parts. The folk discourse, which constitute by public and opinion leaders, and the official discourse, which represented by official media and government, they realize the spreading path by playing their role in communication. The spreading path works as follows:the folks broke and spread the news. And then the official follows the news. After, the folks magnify the news. Then, the official keeps following, etc. In the meanwhile, as the two discourse subjects have different appeals, this research also studies how they gambling. Firstly, the folk discourse will be sublimated when it enters the official discourse space. Secondly, this two discourse will avoid or emphasize frames depends on its interests. Thirdly, the folk discourse will dissolve the official discourse.
