The male prisoners in prison for more than 10 years are important objects of prison management. Their mental health is not only related to the transformation of their results, but also has an important impact on the management of prisons. In order to carry out researches on the mental health of this group, this study explores mental problems and treatment strategies.The study makes surveys on the male prisoners in prison for more than 10 years by Mental Health Status Questionnaire. The 150 pieces of questionnaires are used randomly. After completing the questionnaire, the study takes analysis of the data by SPSS.Statistical methods include independent samples T-test, one-sample T-test, and variance and regression analysis.According to the results of the data analysis, mental problems of the male prisoners in prison for more than 10 years have some characteristics. First, the age has significant effects on mental health. Second, household does not produce significant effects on mental health. Third, the level of mental health of the male prisoners in prison for more than 10 years is lower than the norm significantly. Fourth, the male prisoners in prison for more than 10 years have no significant difference in mental health with female prisoners. Fifth, extraversion, neuroticism and psychoticism are significantly predicted for mental health. According to the findings, this study proposes treatment measures for them. First, group counseling activities are done. Second, the healthy personality is developed. Third, the prison staffs do the training of professional competence. Fourth, get positive family care and social support. Fifth, the scientific mental health system is built.
