In the new era, a varies of youth culture emerge in our society. The youth travel culture is one of culture which take young backpackers as the main body. In this paper, the author using the method of anthropological fieldwork to interview and observe the young backpackers. On the base of presenting and generalizing date from fieldwork, the paper take cultural identity theory as the theoretical analysis tools to explian the the production of young backpackers’ culture identity. Further more, the deep meaning behind the youth travel culture is abstracted.This article can be divided into three parts:introduction, main body, and a discussion and conclusion. The first part is the introduction. Introduction part introduces the origin and the question of research, introduces the basic situation of the fieldwork, and reviewed the relevant research literature. The second part is main body that can be divided into three chapters, the first chapter, respectively from economic status, image characteristics, travel strategy three perspective introduces young backpackers cultural representations. The second chapter presents the young backpackers community, respectively introduces the physical and virtual communities of young backpackers. The third chapter is the theory analysis part, specific analysis of the production of young backpackers’ cultural identity. The third part is the discussion and conclusion, this part thorough discusses the specific means of youth travel culture and the meaning of young backpackers’ cultural identity in the present society.Finally, the paper argues that the behavior of the young backpackers practice should be understood as they search for cultural identity in the present society, it is a cultural phenomenon that is produced by the combination of personal pursuit and social force. In this era of strong liquidity, young people are the group which pay a minimum cost can obtain the biggest benefit in the "roaming" life. By creating a new identity, the youth travel culture strive for the legal residency for young people. |
