The Vaiue Of Citizens’ Freedom Of Expression In Building A Constitutional Society

Abstract:Freedom of expression is a fundamental rights and freedom of citizens provided by Constitution and also the basic human rights which the international human rights movement has been fighting for and trying to protect. It has been valued and protected by many countries due to its universal value.How to ensure the realization of freedom of expression can be of vital importance for every citizen and symbolize the extent of a country ruled by law to which a country has achieved.Therefore, state and society are increasingly recognized the practical value of ensuring the realization of the freedom of expression. However, few domestic scholars and books have been involved in the research of the important role it plays in the process of rule of law.This paper tries to deal with the value of citizens’ freedom of expression in building a constitutional society. It can be divided into the following sections:the first part discusses the freedom of expression, including its meaning, significance, value and limitations of principle; The second part discusses the constitutional community, including the meaning of the constitutional government, what is a constitutional society, the relationship between the freedom of expression and constitutional society and the practical significance of the freedom of expression in constitutional construction; The third part, the focus of this article, concentrates on the value of freedom of expression in building a constitutional society, namely the freedom of expression can help to build and protect the constitutional system, promote the Government to perform their duties faithfully in accordance with the Constitution and laws,accelerate the democratic and political construction of constitutional society, and facilitate the coordination of conflicts between different interest groups, soothing and resolving social conflicts to built a harmony society.Finally, I present my personal view on how to achieve better realization and protection of the freedom of expression.
