Research On The Negative Impact Of Network On Youth From Post-modernity

The network transmission, triggered by post-industrial era and the networkinformation era, has become the fastest media in human history. With thedevelopment of information and media technology, the age of globalization has comeand brought human into a network transmission era. However, what this era haschanged for the youth is not only the rich information and its informationdissemination way, but also the model of thinking, ideas, language narrative,aesthetic orientation and way of life. A new form of society with new all-encompassing nature is being formed.This thesis, starts with the theories of postmodernism and lays its emphasis onthe effect of postmodernism network on youth. At last discusses the evadingcountermeasures, named “3outsides and1inner”. First of all, theoreticalexplanations about the postmodernism have been introduced including itsbackground, connotation and basic features. According to the features of networkdissemination, this thesis pays its attention on the transmission process, contents andresults, which correctly proved that the network transmission has obviouscharacteristics of postmodernism. Through some questionnaires, the paper summedup5negative impacts of the network on the youth. Moreover, the deep reasons havebeen explained from the aspects of postmodernism, the network with postmodernismcharacteristics and the youth themselves. On the evading countermeasures, the paperproposed a comprehensive strategy referred to as“3outsides and1inner” or“Four in One”, which means joint efforts of universities, national authorities, theInternet industry and youth themselves.Therefore, in the future practice of ideological and political education on youth,we should not only care about the real life of youth, but also their cyberspace presences. More attention should be payed not only in the theoretical level ofnetwork ideological and political education on youth, but also in the practice level.
