Threshold:Critical Mechanism On The Peasant’s Individual Resistance

Contemporary China is in the transition period of comprehensively deepen reform,the stability of rural China has important influence on reform.The existing studies about struggle focused on the actors’ choice. In the real social life, it is an increasingly tendency of peasant’s individualized. The solving of contradictions by peasant will be influenced by many factors, but the related research that which critical point will breakthrough and eventually produce individual resistance behavior should not ignore.This article selected an individual incidents in Yu village of A town,portrayed a peasant’s demolition of emotional stress, interest demands, information stimulation, power game as the stage of evolution process in the face of a sudden housing demolition event, analyzed the various transformed thresholds behind the evolution process, tried to provide solutions for the social contradictions in rural areas.This paper believes that "Misgovernment makes the people rebel" is not the single trigger of peasant struggle in the contemporary China.Especially in the face of some unexpected contradiction, the peasant is not showed rebellion at first, and the force subject is not only the "officer". On the contrary, at first, the peasant generated some emotional stress behavior.But if it handled improperly,the interest demand behavior will produced as the second scenario, the possibility of contradictions to be accumulated or solved will be more. While the interest appeal hopeless, with stimulation of various information, the scene of power game will be emerged. All these field look like threshold one by one, while the peasant’s behavior changed to different directions, and each threshold will intensified or digestion contradictions. The transformation between different threshold and the direction of contradictions will be depended on the peasant’s character, the attitude of others, the information of stimulation and closely related to factors such as the government behavior.Therefore, this paper found the contradiction’s threshold and elimination mechanism, it will have important practical significance for solving the social contradictions in Contemporary rural China.
