The Study Of Wang Yangming’s Thought And Practice In Rural Governance

Wang Yangming is one of the most influential thinkers in the history of China, as well as the founder of Wang Yangming’s theory of mind. At the same time, he is also a famous political activist in history. He no only made a great contribution in academic study, but also achieved huge military victory. All those contributions made him known as a famous ministers in Ming dynasty. As an pragmatic politician, he advocated "the unity of knowing and doing". Wang Yangming draw the experience from previous social control and management, and deeply thinking about the control and governance of rural society. On this basis, he built a a set of rigorous system of rural social control and governance. His thought and practice of rural governance has a profound influence on later generations and the history of rural governance research. His rural governance is full of historical value and realistic enlightenment.The research of Wang Yangming and his thought is a focus areas in academia, and a great deal of achievements have been made. However, few people have made monograph of Wang Yangming’s thought and practice in rural governance ever before. It is worth developing further and more. The author describes the main ideas of Wang Yangming’s thought in rural governance and specific practicing process, then summarizes the characteristics of his thought, explores the historical value and practical significance. This study tries to offer historical experiences and idea sources for contemporary researches in rural governance. Due to the limitations in information and horizon, this study is not perfectly profound and comprehensive. Further and more researches are needed.
