Regional Economic Disparitystudy Based On TFP And Government Policy

Since 1978,China’s economy has been developing rapidly for more than 30 years,and it created the miracle of the world economic development.But at the same time, the gap between regions is increasing apparently. Regional economic disparity not only can reduce the economic efficiency, but also affect social stability. Therefore, It has very important practical significance to narrow the gap between regional economic growth to maintain China’s sustained and rapid economic growth and social prosperity and stability.So, what is the reason for the regional economic disparity? How to narrow regional gap and realize the regional harmonious development? These are all want to solve the problem in this paper. This dissertation analyzes influence of foreign preferential investment policies, marketization degree and the fiscal decentralization to disparities of regional economic growth. Secondly, this paper measures the regional preferential investment policies, the degree of marketization and analyzes the present situation and regional differences of the policys.In order to answer the above questions, based on the theoretical review of regional economic disparity and literature review,this dissertation uses popular method at home and abroad to investigate the change trend of regional economic disparity of China from 1987 to 2011,and analyzes the influence factors of China’s regional economic disparity from various angles.First of all, this dissertation uses GDP to calculate the absolute index and relative index of the regional economic disparity,and analyzes the changing trends and characteristics of China’s regional economic disparity.Then, Then, this paper calculates the TFP of region in 1987-2011, and uses the static and dynamic methods to measure the total factor productivity’s contribution to the regional economic growth difference, and total factor productivity contribution to economic growth difference.At last,this paper built a dynamic panel model to analyze the effects of TFP and government policy to regional economic growth difference.Through the above research, this dissertation gets the following conclusions:the GDP per,Total factor productivity and the government policy areas are showing a more obvious differences in our country, the indexes of the eastern part are higher than the central and western regions; Based on the analysis of the contribution of economic growth, the contribution of factor inputs to economic growth difference is bigger than TFP does, and the contribution to the economic growth from big to small in turn is physical capital, human capital accumulation, technological progress and technology improvement;TFP has a significant impact to economic growth in eastern region,but not significant in the central and western regions;The common factor of Preferential investment policies, marketization degree and the fiscal decentralization has a significant effect on the influence of regional economic growth.
