Research Of Zhou Enlai’s Thought Of The People’s Livelihood

Livelihood issues, in short, are the problems of the basic needs, which are relatedto the people’s survival and development. The solution of the livelihood issues isdirectly related to the realization of people’s vital interests. Moreover, the livelihoodissues are the important factors relating to the survival of state and party. The report ofthe Seventeenth National Congress shows our country’s high attention to the“livelihood issues with the expression” The State taking people as the fundamental,civilian taking students as the first”.Zhou Enlai is an important member of the first generation of collective leadership.In the long-term exploration process of saving our country and in the course of thegreat rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, he created the rich and comprehensivelivelihood thoughts combing special Chinese conditions with the great Marxismconcerning the thought that the people is the creator of history.Academic circles are keen to study the livelihood thought with the great attentionto livelihood issues from our country. Though many scholars are very concerned aboutZhou Enlai’s livelihood thought, there are still less research results which study it as asystematically. Zhou Enlai’s livelihood thought is the historical epitome of his strugglefor solving the livelihood issues in contemporary China during26years’ primeministership. So I think it is very necessary to study Zhou Enlai’s livelihood thought asa whole.The logical structure of this paper are as follows:The fiirst part is the foreword.The second part is the introduction, is a brief overview of this topic researchbackground, literature review, research emphasis and difficulty problem.The third part is the theory origin and formation process of Zhou Enlai’s livelihood thought. This is the starting point of this article. The theory origin isanalyzed from three aspects, including Chinese traditional livelihood thoughts, SunZhongshan’s livelihood thought and Marx’s livelihood thought. As for the formationprocess, the author divides Zhou Enlai’s livelihood thought into three stages, namelythe embryonic stage, development stage and mature stage according to the differentemphasis and characteristics in different stages.The fourth part is the main contents of Zhou Enlai’s livelihood thought. This is thefocus of this paper. This thesis will elaborate Zhou Enlai’s livelihood thought from sixaspects which were the main problems in his26years’prime ministership, includingeducation, health care, employment, social security, distribution and house.The fifth part is a series of measures for solving the livelihood issues then whichwere put forward by Zhou Enlai. This paper will conclude them from economy, policy,culture and health and society.The last part is the historical value basing on the theoretical and practicalsignificance of Zhou Enlai’s livelihood thought.
